Lavender Rosemary Body Butter

✔ Organic

Dry skin. Perhaps it's not The Worst, but, for me, it's damn near close. I find that tight, itchy, uncomfortable feeling of under-moisturized skin absolutely unbearable. Based on how many creams, lotions, butters, and salves are crowding the bathroom counters of my female friends and relatives, I think it's safe to say that I'm not alone.

But what’s IN those products? Likely a head-spinning mix of unpronounceable chemical names, known toxins, and potential carcinogens.

Why not switch to a blend that costs half the price and contains organic, fair trade, pronounceable, and recognizable ingredients?

This recipe contains:

- Raw, organic shea butter: rich in vitamins A, E, and F, and loaded with fatty acids, shea butter is a skin-nourishing powerhouse. It's been used in Africa for hundreds of years to improve both skin and hair health, and is even said to soften skin over time and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and stretch marks.

- Unrefined, fair trade, organic cocoa butter: packed with oleic, stearic, and palmitic acids, and containing several B vitamins, this byproduct of chocolate production works to create a barrier between your skin and the environment, keeping harmful particles away while locking in moisture.

- Organic, fair trade coconut oil: saturated fats in the form of medium chain triglycerides make coconut oil a rich moisturizer. Add in antimicrobial properties, naturally occurring proteins, vitamin E, and a host of beneficial fatty acids and coconut oil's reputation as a use-for-everything oil begins to make sense.

- Organic, steam-distilled lavender, rosemary & tea tree essential oils: these three come together to form a super-healing and protecting blend of antifungal, antioxidant, antimicrobial, and antiseptic properties. And mixed with the chocolately tang of cocoa butter and the earthy scent of shea butter, these oils turn this body butter into something that smells so delicious, you'll want to eat it!
